·         10:00-12:00 pm        Sleepy Hollow Cemetery - Our two-hour afternoon walking tour offers a great overview of what makes this 169-year old place so special.  The first stop is none other than the final resting place of the illustrious Washington Irving, author of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”.  After that, it i’s on to the Receiving Vault – a favorite especially among Dark Shadows fans – and some of the most lovely plots in the south end before making our way north to Andrew Carnegie’s final resting place, William Rockefeller’s family mausoleum and much more along the way.



·         Lunch on own in the town of Sleepy Hollow



·         2:00 -3:15 pm            Irving Washington’s Sunnyside tour of the first floor only, plus Halloween themed attractions.  America’s “Founding Father of Literature” created a romantic, picturesque estate nestled along the Hudson riverbank. The enchanted landscape of Washington Irving’s much-loved Sunnyside has been charming guests for generations. Visitors today hear about Washington Irving’s storied past and how he came to be America’s first internationally famous author. His characters, from the Headless Horseman to Rip Van Winkle, are global icons, and Irving’s legacy lives on at his whimsical estate.

·         5:30–7:00 pm            Dinner will be on your own at the Palisades Center with 25 dining options.



·         7:30-8:30 pm             Jonathan Krup’s Legend of Sleepy Hollow at the Old Dutch Church - Master storytellers offer dramatic performances of Washington Irving’s classic ghostly tale, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, featuring the Headless Horseman, Ichabod Crane, Brom Bones, and Katrina Van Tassel. Flavored with live spooky organ music, the spellbinding storytelling captivates all audiences. This is, in fact, the church and churchyard from The Legend, from which the Headless Horseman rises in search of his head. It’s just a few steps from the bridge where Ichabod Crane met his fate!



·         9:00-10:00 pm           Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze – Outdoor event -  Don’t miss the area’s biggest Halloween event! The wildly popular Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze has featured over 7,000 hand-carved, illuminated pumpkins set against the mysterious backdrop of Van Cortlandt Manor’s 18th-century buildings and riverside landscape.  Every year is even more spectacular than the last.

·         9:30 am          Depart the hotel



·         10:00 – 11:30 am     Lyndhurst Mansion- This Gothic Revival mansion was originally designed in 1838 by American architect Alexander Jackson Davis for former New York City mayor William Paulding, Jr. Paulding named his country villa “Knoll.” Fans of the 1960s television series Dark Shadows may recall that Lyndhurst served as the Collinwood estate in the feature-length films House of Dark Shadows (1970) and Night of Dark Shadows (1971).



·         11:45 am        Lunch at the Bistro Z.  You will be able to choose from fish/chicken or pasta for your main course. Salad, dessert and non-alcoholic soft drinks are included.



·         2:15 pm          Kykuit - This was the home to four generations of the Rockefeller family, beginning with the philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, founder of Standard Oil. His business acumen made him, in his day, the richest man in America. Your visit will include the main floor of the house, art galleries, Inner Garden, golf room, and Coach Barn. The tour is 2 1/4 hours, including the shuttle bus ride. 



·         5:00 pm          Depart for home

·         7:30 pm          Approximate arrival time back at the William Penn Park N Ride
