WICKED…Wicked, the Broadway sensation, looks at what
happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy
arrives, there is another girl, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery,
misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly
blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the
unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the
other one “wicked.” With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying
Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” Wicked has been hailed by The New York
Times as “the defining musical of the decade.” Time Magazine cheers, “if every
musical had the brain, the heart, and the courage of Wicked, Broadway really
would be a magical place.” The Gershwin Theatre on 50th Street and Broadway is
that magical place. From the first electrifying note to the final breathtaking
moment, Wicked—the untold true story of the Witches of Oz—transfixes audiences
with its wildly inventive story. It will send your spirits soaring to heights
you’ll never forget.
·
COME FROM AWAY…Come From Away is based on the true
story of when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland played host to the
world. What started as an average day in a small town turned in to an
international sleep-over when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from across
the globe, were diverted to Gander’s air strip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted
by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the
stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all
part of a global family.
·
TOOTSIE…Tootsie centers on the talented but difficult
actor Michael Dorsey who struggles to find work until an audacious, desperate
stunt lands him the role of a lifetime.
·
KING KONG…In the grip of the Great Depression, New York
City is a place of pressure, of desperation, but also of hope. Enter Ann
Darrow, a fearless young actress with a will of steel and dreams that reach as
high as the just-completed Empire State Building. After a brutal struggle just
to stay on her feet, Ann finds her big break in the form of Carl Denham, a
fast-talking filmmaker who promises to make her the star of his next big
adventure movie. Throwing caution to the winds, she joins Carl on a voyage to
the mysterious Skull Island. There, they encounter a wonder more astonishing than
they could have possibly imagined: a 20-foot-tall, 2,000-pound ape known only
as Kong. To her surprise, Ann finds an unexpected kindred spirit in this
magnificent, untameable creature. But when Carl hatches a plan to capture Kong
and display him to the New York masses, she’s faced with a terrible choice.
Will Ann follow the call of her own ambition? Or can she find the strength to
stand up for what’s right?
·
THE PROM…The Prom is a new original musical comedy from
the geniuses behind The Book of Mormon, The Drowsy Chaperone, Mean Girls…must
we go on?
Four
stars are leaving the bright lights of Broadway to take leading roles in a
small-town controversy making national headlines: a student just wants to bring
her girlfriend to prom. Now her entire town has a date with destiny in this
hilarious, huge-hearted hit that’s as much about listening up as it is about
singing out. Don’t miss show-stopping star turns from Tony® nominee Brooks
Ashmanskas (Something Rotten!), Tony winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone)
and Tony nominee Christopher Sieber (Shrek) as they lead an electric cast of
27.
·
WAITRESS…Based on the 2007 film by the late Adrienne
Shelly, Waitress follows Jenna, a pregnant waitress in the south trapped in an
abusive marriage and looking for a happy ending. She finds relief—and
potentially that happy ending—by making creatively titled pies and forming a
romance with an unlikely newcomer.
·
BEAUTIFUL…For five years, Beautiful, the Tony and Grammy
Award-winning Carole King musical, has thrilled Broadway with the inspiring
true story of one woman’s remarkable journey from teenage songwriter to the
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. From the string of pop classics she wrote
for the biggest acts in music to her own life-changing, chart-busting success with
Tapestry, Beautiful takes you back to where it all began—and takes you on the
ride of a lifetime. Featuring over two dozen pop classics, including
“You’ve Got a Friend,” “One Fine Day,” “Up on the Roof,” “You’ve Lost That
Lovin’ Feeling,” “Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” and “Natural Woman,” this
crowd-pleasing international phenomenon is filled with the songs you
remember—and a story you’ll never forget.
·
THE CHER SHOW…The Cher Show is based on the life of
Cherilyn Sarkisian La Piere Bono Allman or as her friends call her, Cher! The
kid on a tricycle, vowing to be famous. The teenage phenom who crashes by
twenty. The glam TV star who quits at the top. The would-be actress with an
Oscar. The rock goddess with a hundred million records sold. The legend who’s
done it all, still scared to walk on stage. The wife, mother, daughter, sister,
friend. The woman, looking for love. The ultimate survivor, chasing her dream.
They’re all here, dressed to kill, singing their asses off, telling it like it
is. And they're all the star of The Cher Show.
·
MOULIN ROUGE…Enter a world of splendor and romance,
of eye-popping excess, of glitz, grandeur and glory! A world where Bohemians
and aristocrats rub elbows and revel in electrifying enchantment. Pop the
champagne and prepare for the spectacular spectacular... Welcome to Moulin
Rouge! The Musical. Baz Luhrmann’s revolutionary film comes to life
onstage, remixed in a new musical mash-up extravaganza. A theatrical
celebration of truth, beauty, freedom and—above all—LOVE, Moulin Rouge! is more
than a musical; it is a state of mind. How wonderful life is...at the
Moulin Rouge.
