TRIP ITINERARY:



Day 1, Saturday, October 13, 2018



·        7:00 am   Depart from William Penn Park and Ride off of Route 33

·        7:25am  Additional pick-up behind Potsy’s Pizza in Kuhnsville.  5925 Tilghman Street

·        10:00 -11:00 am    Enjoy wine tasting at the beautiful Hauser Estate & Winery - An underground winery production facility sits beneath our 360 degree glass enclosed tasting room that overlooks miles of farmland, orchards, and forests, extending toward the national Civil War Battlefield.

·        11:30 - 1:00 pm     Enjoy a plated lunch at Herr Ridge - set in a former Civil War hospital built in 1815, this refined inn is now a bed & breakfast with fine dining. Hear the stories of the haunted rooms. Choice for entrée:  Herb Crusted Chicken Breast or Gilled Flat Iron Steak.

·        2:00- 4:00 pm         Battlefield Tour - more than 165,000 soldiers of The Army of Northern Virginia (the Confederacy), commanded by General Robert E. Lee, and the Army of the Potomac (the Union), commanded by General George G. Meade, fought at Gettysburg. Neither General Lee nor General Meade anticipated a battle at Gettysburg, but chance brought these two forces together. Union forces eventually defeated the Confederates after three days of fighting that resulted in approximately 51,000 soldiers killed, wounded, captured or missing, divided nearly equally between the two armies.

·        4:30 pm        Check into your hotel and you can enjoy dinner on your own at any of the three local restaurants. There are two restaurants located within your hotel, and right across the street is Appalachian Brewing Company.

·        7:30 pm        Depart your hotel for your ghost tour.

·        8:00 - 9:30 pm        You will join Published Author Johlene “Spooky” Riley for the Wine and Spirits Tour. Hear ghost stories and the history by candle light on this 90 minute walking tour. You will get to enjoy delicious craft beer, wine, and distillery products at two steps off points in the heart of historic and haunted Gettysburg.





Day 2,  Sunday, October 14, 2018



·        7:00 - 8:30   Enjoy a buffet style breakfast at your hotel

·        8:30 am        Depart from your hotel.

·        9:00 - 10:30 am      Seminary Ridge Museum - step inside one of the nation's most historic buildings, hear the floors creek, and listen to the stories of duty and devotion that still echoes through the hallways. Three floors of exhibits allow you to discover: the first day of the battle along Seminary Ridge, the care of the wounded in a building that served as one of Gettysburg's largest field hospitals, and the meaning of freedom in our world today.

·        11:00 - 3:00 pm     Enjoy your time at the Apple Harvest festival. The festival is filled with lots to do, see and taste. Your admission is included in price but food and drinks are on your own. Don't forget to stop by the wineries, Adam's County Winery, Reid's Orchard & Winery, Halbrendt Winery, and Sandcastle Winery will all be there and you will be able to taste there wines.

·        3:30 – 4:30 pm       Boyer Cellar Winery. Here you will get to taste traditional wines, ciders, or sparkling wines.

·        7:30 pm        Arrive back at the City line lot Bethlehem.
