8:30 am  Depart for Virginia Beach

9:30 am  Visit the Spirits of Ferry Plantation with its 13 resident ghosts, Indian Burrial grounds and Grace Sherwood, the witch of Pungo, this experience will be like none other. You will all have a “divining” rod to help sense the spirits for yourself. The Ferry Plantation House dates back to the mid 1600s being used for a ferry service provided by Adam Thoroughgood. Additionally, the Second Princess Anne Courthouse was built on the premises and was used to try the only convicted witch in Virginia. There has a documented account of at least 11 spirits/ghosts occupying the premises. Also on the grounds are a Church and Walke manor that also receive paranormal phenomenon. In the midst of the evening and even during the day, tourists have reported hearing voices, a sense of being watched. Others have physical experiences such as lightheadedness and heavy draining pressure. Are all these paranormal? It’s hard to say. Although with many accounts and paranormal research evidence, it is likely that many have had a paranormal experience. A popular guest from the other side would be the “Lady in White”. She was the governess for a family that lived in the Walke Manor. It is believed that she fell down the stairs to her tragic end. What caused her fall is still uncertain. Psychics that have visited the location have agreed that it was a broken neck that caused the death. Yet the cause of the fall prior, has been in question to the children she used to care for or slipping on her own gown. As paranormal teams continue to investigate, these answers may surface.

Breakfast at the hotel followed by bags out

9:00 am Endview Plantation Built in 1769 by William Harwood, the ‘T'- frame Georgian-style house renamed Endview in the 1850s, served as a Confederate hospital during the 1862 Peninsula Campaign. Surrounded by prime farmland, Harwood situated his home atop a little knoll with a spring at the base. The inviting location, with its abundance of game and fresh water had attracted bands of Native Americans as early as 1,200 BC. Archaeological evidence has shown that the later Woodland-Riverine tribes, popularly known as the Powhatan Confederation, seasonally occupied the area up to the time of the English settlement at Jamestown in 1607. Endview acquired its distinctive name in the mid-19th century when the farm lane, which originally led to the north (back) side of the house, was moved so that the dwelling was approached from the west end. Thus, visitors were greeted with an "end view." The house retains this approach and has been restored to its 1862 appearance.

11:15 am Edgar Allan Poe Museum Called "America's Shakespeare," Edgar Allan Poe created or mastered the short story, detective fiction, science fiction, lyric poetry and the horror story. His dark genius has invited children and adults to read and love literature for over 150 years. Richmond's Poe Museum boasts the world's finest collection of Edgar Allan Poe's manuscripts, letters, first editions, memorabilia and personal belongings. The Poe Museum provides a retreat into early nineteenth century Richmond where Poe lived and worked. The museum features the life and career of Edgar Allan Poe by documenting his accomplishments with pictures, relics, and verse, and focusing on his many years in Richmond.
